Dubai
Dubai
There is no other way to put it. This city is pretty damn cool. And just excessive to the max. We came here, however, with that knowledge - guilt free indulgences.
This building, the Burj Khalifa, is just huge. I mean it is so tall, that is makes all the other buildings look tiny, when in fact, all the surrounding buildings are at least as tall as the biggest ones in San Diego.
The shopping “mall” is absurd. An ice rink, aquarium, zoo, movie theater, and oh yea, 2100 shops. Despite that, for all the Chanel, Gucci, Dolce, you name it, I (Chez) unhappily found nothing worth purchasing. The hunt will go on, but more than I like my luxury goods I am picky. So, Griff and I just had a great time. Shared a $6 latte (decaf of course), saw our first movie in a theater together in what, 4 months? And giggled at the talent on the ice rink.
On top of the Burj - 124 floors up. It was pretty cool that humans built this thing, and that our lookout point was not Half Dome, Angel’s Landing, or anything made by nature. On the elevator up (40mph, fastest in the world), we passed 2.5 floors per second. It was really something!
