The fall monsoon brings in moisture and thunderstorms, adding a great depth of perception to this canyon.  On most days the light is strong and produced a flattening effect. It is already hard enough to gauge the true size and vastness of this canyon, but when there is moisture in the air, you can really get a sense for its grandeur.
