Nepal Trek Day 6. Ghyaru to Bhraka

Elevation gain:  12,100’ to 11,023’ (-1,077’) Estimated miles: 15km Time: 8am-3pm

After a chilly night (finally), we awoke to stunning views of the Annapurna mountains, and got out onto the trail just after 8am.  Hiking away from Ghyaru and starting to descend we were able to look back and see just how amazing the town we had just stayed in was.  It is perched on a steep slope, yet so much of it is in cultivation.  These people work very hard, every day it seems, on their land. We stopped for lunch in Mugie, but I didn’t have much of an appetite.  Maybe its the altitude, maybe its anxiety about the pass that is looming over our heads at 17,775’ which I know I will have to cross.  For the night we stopped in Bhraka at a very nice guest house.  I felt well enough to eat a meal and get a good night sleep. Despite our long hike, this day felt very easy and relaxing due to the loss of altitude.
